Z is a poor man who has never been able to hold down a job. An implacable fate has always plagued him, placing him in a series of improbable situations. His last job as a sales representative came to an end as quickly as it was catastrophic. Starving and penniless, Z meets a stranger who takes him to a shady nightclub. There, a character hires him as a chauffeur. Unfortunately, Z is a little late in discovering his boss’s sad profession. But he manages to put a gang of gangsters out of business. A slapstick comedy shot on location, this film is in the “modern” tradition of Mack Sennett.
